What a fun night!

What a fun night! I cannot explain it all in words ... so here we go with pictures:

At the club for our happy hour and shrimp night:

After dinner, we started on a golf cart ride:

And on our way around the neighborhood, we found a friend's house that needed some lovin'.

Here we are in the master bedroom:

And in the master bath:

Corey had to relieve himself:
And Derek was workin it on the kitchen island:

And then, we leisurely found our way home:

Time to watch one of the Bourne movies and then get to bed .... and also get ready for Lori's b-day tomorrow!

Trip to Savannah

This afternoon we headed into Savannah.

I found some Tibi!

We then passed the Independent Presbyterian Church .. this is the church from the opening scene in the movie "Forrest Gump" .. as the white feather was falling from the sky, it passed in front of this steeple.

This is the Cathedral of Saint John the baptist. We walked around inside - it is gorgeous!

After the cathedral, we headed to River Street. It was crowded but the weather turned icky (misty and cool), so we headed back up to Wild Wings for a beer. MMM Sweetwater!

Followed by some gelato which did NOT taste like Italian gelato!!

The plan is for happy hour at the Savannah Quarters Country Club. 3-2-1; $3 mixed, $2 wines, $1 beer! Followed by a Buba Gump Shrimp party (lots of shrimp prepared lots of different ways!

A look ahead

I can't complain too much about this weather forecast for the next few days!

Santa's gone back to the North Pole

Although Santa left to go back to the North Pole, Lori and I took a walk on Christmas night and spotted some of his reindeer! I think they liked the warmer weather and I doubt they want to go back to the frigid north.

Here is the Christmas dinner turkey. It turned out great!

Good thing it didn't turn out like the video below:

After Derek and Corey hooked up the new Blue-ray disc player, we all watched Dark Night. I fell asleep on the floor ... luckily I didn't find any drool!

Fun Christmas Day!

Here is the turkey just starting to cook in the infrared ....

Corey's making sure it is warming up properly

After the turkey was started, we headed to the pool to see some neighbors and enjoy the nice weather. We took the golf cart there ....

What a gorgeous night! We got back from the pool and then went to a party down the street .... there was a Titleist dealer there: Corey fell in love! He kept talking about the latest and greatest clubs, balls, etc. We had a great time. When we got back the turkey was done!

Cannot wait to eat the turkey ... more later!!! Merry Christmas!!

Sunscreen on Christmas Day

Today is the first time (that I can remember) that I have needed sunscreen on Christmas Day! More on that later ...

Santa found his way to Georgia!

And Santa brought HOT weather! It was 75 degrees F today - might have been hotter on that golf course with the sun beating down.

Here is the best way to golf - with a cooler : )

We are on our way to the pool (yes - there is water in the pool!) for some appetizers and wine with some neighbors. Craig and Derek are on the back porch lighting the infared turkey cooker for dinner tonight. I will make sure to show pictures of the cooking process!

Merry Ho Ho!

Christmas Party

What's better than food, family, and friends at Christmas?

First ... the food (and wine which counts as food!)

Family

Friends

Oh - and it's warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the evening on the front porch!

I hear that Santa may have been spotted in Savannah Quarters. We will find out and report soon!

Eagle, Birdie, Par

What a great day for golf. It was just a little windy - but because it was sunny and warm no one cared that there was a bit of wind!

No one had a perfromance worthy of quiting their day job to try for the tour -- but no one wanted to quit after the round, either.

Everyone is getting ready for the Christmas Eve party that starts tonight at 6PM. It will be a fun time - and it's warm enough to have some of the party outside. Yippie.

Late night antics

We weren't looking for or waiting for Santa last night - but we still managed to get into a crazy mood. An exercise ball fight, wrastlin, and ice throwing ....

Who knows?! Today is golf at 11AM. It is currently 57 degrees F with a high of 74 degrees F. That is golfing weather for me. Merry Christmas Eve!

Here's Lookin at You Kid

This picture just suits the title!

*notice Lou on the fridge!

What an awesome dinner! Here are some highlights.

After dinner we went on a cruise around the neighborhood!

Whooo ... what a long day! It is time for a good night sleep! Goodbye ... until tomorrow.

Only 2 days until Christmas!

What a fun filled day in Georgia -- well after I finished with work it was a fun day.

The afternoon started with a run! My first run since the cast has been off of my broken foot. It was about a 2.6 mile run, and felt just great. I can't wait to start going even longer. Here I am post run in the Georgia sun.

After the run, Lori and I headed to downtown Savannah for some shopping! We went into a lot of fun stores and saw a lot of cool things. Thirsty from all of the shopping, we stopped at the River Front Huey's for happy hour drinks! Here we are with our Miller Lights.

After our fun girl's outing, we headed to meet the guys at the Distillery. Lori and I got there before the golfers (who braved what the girls consider to be cold temps). The bartender took a liking to us and kept offering us samples of the various draft beers. Here we are all together.

Tonight we have a seafood buffet! Last year Corey and I gave Derek a gift card for Legal seafood (a great seafood place in Boston). He ordered some seafood that Lori is going to prepare and we are going to eat. Yumm!

Tomorrow is calling for warmer temps which means golfing for me and the rest of the gang.

Work Work Work, All Day Long

Working "from home" today -- well really from Georgia. It's not too bad though, considering that it is only 40 degrees outside and that is too cold for golf or for a walk/run. So, I will work on my year end self assessment today and frolic outside tomorrow (when the temp is going to be 73 degrees F!)

Corey lost the bet that was discussed in the last blog entry - it was only 34 degrees F this morning. And sadly, I lost to Corey in Fantasy Football this year. The Bears defense only got 7 points last night. I am still up in the series 2-1 ... we'll have to see what next year will bring.

Party in Pooler

Party tonight in Pooler. We got our luggage! As soon as we got to the airport the bags were just coming off of the carousel. Perfect timing.

Tonight we went to Jalapenos for a Mexican fiesta (and 32 oz. beers on special!). This picture makes me look like I am 4 ft tall! And here is Corey as Cousin Eddie ...

Big game tonight on Monday night football - I am routing for the Bears!! If their defense gets 20+ points tonight I will beat Corey for the third year in our fantasy football league! Go defense!

Christmas vacation movie it playing upstairs .... but I am planning for bed soon because I have to work tomorrow AM (working from home because of the shutdown).

Corey and Lori have a bet going -- the high tomorrow in the Savannah area is 60 degrees F, while the low is 25 degrees F. Corey has bet that the temperature at 8AM will be 39 degrees F or higher. Lori believes that it will be 38 degrees F or lower. I am betting that Lori will win! There is a beer at stake - so this will be a good one to win.

Goodnight for now!

In the Peach State!

We made it! We got a great workout in Hotlanta running from concourse A to concourse C to make our connection to Savannah. We got to the gate as they were finishing boarding - perfect timing! Unfortunately, our luggage wasn't so lucky. It was put on the next flight out of ATL - we should get it tonight by 7PM.

Here is a picture of cousin Eddie ... I mean Corey. Check him out, and then the movie clip of the real Eddie. Scary resemblance.

Delayed

It is freezing cold in Indiana - 5 degrees with wind chills lowering the "feels like" temp to below zero. It will be a nice relief to get to Georgia for some warmer weather.

So far we are only delayed by 30 minutes out of Indy. However, this means that our layover in ATL is now only 35 minutes. Fingers are crossed that there are no more delays and things go smoothly. A bad surprise at the airport - Delta lets passengers check one bag for free and charges 50$ for any additional bags. Bah-humbug. Southwest Airlines keeps looking better and better!

On a good note, the new Indy airport is awesome!
